Prolific thief returns to prison

A notorious shoplifter has been sent back to prison after stealing several boxes of chocolates.

Justn Lamb, 27, entered the convenience store on Watnall Road in Hucknall and bought goods at around 1pm on Tuesday 25 June.

Lamb, a known criminal with multiple convictions, was identified by officers, located and arrested several days later.

He refused to answer any questions but later confessed to the theft.

Lamb, of HMP Nottingham, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 1, and was sentenced to eight weeks in prison.

Detective Constable Joshua Vere of Nottinghamshire Police said:

“Thefts of this type have a significant impact on businesses and shop workers and officers always take them very seriously.

“Lamb is very well known to us for this type of offence and has served a number of prison sentences.

“I sincerely hope he uses this final period of imprisonment to address the root causes of his offending and get the help he needs.”
