Donald Trump Calls Joe Biden ‘Broken’ in Post-Debate Video

WASHINGTON, July 4 (Reuters) – Former President Donald Trump falsely claimed to have kicked Democratic President Joe Biden out of the race for the White House and insulted Vice President Kamala Harris in a video posted by the Daily Beast, drawing sharp criticism from Biden’s campaign.

Former President Trump was filmed on one of his golf courses seeking praise for his debate with Biden, whose defeat last week sparked calls for his fellow Democrats to resign.

“He’s dropping out of the race… I pulled him out,” Trump says in a video released late Wednesday. The former president also shared the video on his Truth Social platform.

“Look at this old, broken-down pile of junk,” Trump says in the video.

He then belittled Harris, who sources say would likely replace Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee if he were to withdraw, saying: “She’s so bad, so pathetic.”

Biden, 81, told his campaign on Wednesday that he is still running. His campaign responded to Trump, 78, in a statement.

“No, Donald. It’s wrong to take away women’s rights; It’s wrong to lose an election and encourage a violent mob to attack the Capitol; It’s wrong to assault women; It’s wrong to not pay taxes,” spokeswoman Sarafina Chitika said.

The Trump campaign stood by his words, with co-campaign manager Chris LaCivita responding to X: “Nothing in this video is incorrect.”

Reuters has verified the location of the video as the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The golf cart Trump is riding in has the number one and the presidential seal; he was previously seen driving the same cart in video footage from the golf course.
