Police say suspect arrested in Sarasota, Florida shooting

Miami police arrested a 54-year-old man on Thursday in connection with a shooting in Sarasota.

After a brief search, Miami police arrested Kevin Holloway after a man was found dead with gunshot wounds near the intersection of Dixie Avenue and 24th Street shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday. Miami and Miami-Dade police arrested Holloway after Sarasota police detectives determined he was responsible for the shooting.

Sarasota police were unable to release information about the events leading up to the shooting, but the investigation is ongoing. Police did not release information about the victim’s identity.
