Coachbuilt and Williams Racing debut limited edition 18-year-old blended whisky Coachbuilt

Coachbuilt Whisky and Williams Racing today announce the inaugural release of a joint, limited edition whisky series that pays tribute to Williams Racing and its rich heritage.

The debut spirit is an 18-year-old blended Scotch whisky with 48% ABV, matured in sherry and bourbon casks.

This dynamic collaboration brings together two innovators in their fields, combining Williams Racing’s motorsport engineering expertise with the passion for precision and craftsmanship embodied by Coachbuilt.

The partnership will be celebrated tonight with a special launch event at Silverstone.

“The launch of our first series is the culmination of a dream of mine to combine my two great passions: racing and Scotch whisky,” said Jenson Button.

“With this in mind, racing fans and Scotch whisky collectors have much to be excited about as we bring to market some truly exceptional whiskies – all beautifully blended to create a smooth and well-balanced taste experience.”

Coachbuilt is recognised across the Scotch whisky world for its unique approach to blending, sourcing liquids from all five of Scotland’s whisky producing regions including Speyside, Highland, Islay, Campbeltown and the Lowlands.

Crafted at Claxton’s by Coachbuilt co-founder George Koutsakis, the beer blend is made from 100% malted barley.

The nose of 18-Yellow showcases orchard fruit and winter spices before subtle notes of vanilla, dark chocolate and cinnamon impress the palate – while the finish is long, smooth and rich. The whisky is best served neat or over ice.

The packaging is housed in a commemorative bottle that is sure to interest racing enthusiasts. The packaging design references the FW18, one of Williams Racing’s most successful and iconic cars.

The FW18’s success belied an entire era of racing, and Coachbuilt is paying tribute to the car and its number with a commemorative blend of whisky – matured for over 18 years.

In addition to the 18-Year-Old versions, the alliance will produce several limited edition whiskies that will commemorate some of the most important moments in Williams Racing’s history.

The award also commemorates the long and fruitful relationship between Williams and Jenson, which began in 2000 when the team provided Jenson with the opportunity to make his breakthrough in Formula 1.

In addition to the special editions, as part of the licensing partnership, Williams guests will be able to use the basic Coachbuilt edition in the paddock.

The whisky will be available to pre-order from today at www.masterofmalt.com and in selected UK fine spirits stores from August. Coachbuilt Williams 18-Year-Old Blended Scotch Whisky is priced at £230 for a 700ml bottle. Only 3,000 bottles will be released worldwide.
