Serious accident of cyclist Marta Cavalli (who finished second in the 2022 Giro d’Italia Donne), hit by a car in broad daylight while cycling with a friend on the provincial road 234 Codognese towards Maleo, at the first roundabout after the Adda river.

According to “La Provincia di Cremona”, the athlete was hit by a car. The driver entered the roundabout, probably failing to give way, hitting Marta Cavalli, who fell painfully to the ground and was immediately treated by the Red Cross.

The Italian cyclist was taken to hospital, but did not lose consciousness. The tests at the hospital in Cremona are still ongoing: the rider from the FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope team suffered neck and back pain caused by the strong impact of the car. The causes of the accident are still being investigated by the Codogno Carabinieri company. Her condition is not life-threatening. In February, Marta had already had an accident in Spain. A few months later, it happened again, this time during training.
