Wichita Man Arrested for 2 Robberies in Garden City

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Garden City Police Department says a 49-year-old Wichita man has been arrested in connection with two robberies.

The armed robberies occurred at two different businesses. One occurred May 4 at Joyeria America, 308 W. Fulton St., and the other July 1 at Tacos El Tapatio, 1203 E. Fulton St.


On July 4, officers located the suspect and arrested him following a pursuit that continued east of the city.

Police said no one was injured in the pursuit. The Finney County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas State Highway Patrol assisted in the search.

The man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated robbery, fleeing and eluding control, obstructing law enforcement, aggravated assault on law enforcement, aggravated battery, possession of stimulants, possession of hallucinogenic substances with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, and careless driving.

KSN News is not releasing the suspect’s name until he is charged.
