A Metropolitan Police officer who protected senior members of the royal family before his wife accused him of domestic and sexual violence has apparently returned to work.

The woman, whose name was not released, reported that the man forced her into violent sex, abused her and mentally abused her throughout their 10-year marriage.

The officer, who has not been named, was suspended from duty earlier this year and is due to be questioned in connection with the allegations, the Mail on Sunday reports.

But now she says she is furious to learn that the officer she described as a “danger to women” recently returned to work.

The woman claimed abuse was a “constant” part of their relationship, even after he was promoted to become a bodyguard for the royals.

The woman claims that the man forced her into brutal sex, which she was unable to refuse for fear of upsetting him.

“He drinks a lot, so it gets to a certain point and that’s when he starts attacking me,” she said.

In one case, a police officer allegedly attacked her in the shower after a night out.

She said: “He grabbed me by the throat and shouted, ‘Don’t ever embarrass me again,’ and then he punched me in the face so hard I saw lights.”

Control included deciding what, where, and where she would go. She said, “I had to hand everything over to him, and he had to take me and pick me up everywhere.”

He also allegedly threatened the woman’s sons from her previous marriage, especially the eldest child.

She said: “He threatened to knock him out.”

The woman first reported the matter to her husband in 2021, as she separated from him in 2020, but the General Prosecutor’s Office withdrew the complaint.

She reported him again last September, this time for stalking her. Officers encouraged her to file new charges of sexual assault and battery.

Despite being suspended from duty, the officer returned to work in June this year, prompting the woman to file a new complaint with the police.

The Metropolitan Police said: “In May we received notification from another force that they had received an allegation relating to an officer within the Crown and Specialist Protection Command.”

‘Nottinghamshire Police are investigating. The Met’s Professional Standards Directorate is aware of this.

“The officer was placed on restricted duties.”
