Man charged over serious crash near Freeport city centre

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) – Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a crash last month that left one person seriously injured.

Ethan Weber of rural Freeport has been charged with reckless driving. Freeport police say Weber was responsible for the crash around noon June 4 at the intersection of Galena Avenue and Iroquois Street. At the time of the crash, the Freeport Fire Department said four people were taken to the hospital.

Weber was arrested on July 5, questioned by police and released under the Pretrial Integrity Act.

He is expected to appear in court again on July 11.
