The PEHPA Lab is overseen by Dr. Mark Beauchamp, who is a Professor in the School of Kinesiology at The University of British Columbia and a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar (Population Health). Drawing from diverse disciplines (that include behavioural medicine, organizational psychology, and education) our program is concerned with (a) understanding both barriers to, and facilitators of, physical activity behaviour across the age spectrum, and (b) developing conceptually-sound evidence-based interventions that are cost-effective and sustainable.
Founded in 2010, our mission is to enable ex-military leaders to achieve their full potential in the marketplace, through our common values, teamwork, mentorship and our network’s connectivity.
Founded in 1997 and based out of UBC’s Faculty of Education, the Centre for Group Counselling and Trauma assists military veterans in transitioning back to civilian life. Building on the work of the Veterans Transition Program (founded 1997) the Centre has refined and developed 20 years of programming to create an approach to group counselling for veterans dealing with trauma that today is delivering unprecedented results.
